We are excited to invite you to a special fireside chat 9-10 am China time via Zoom on March 12, 2025, featuring Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, world-renowned professor and expert in sustainable development. Dr. Sachs is a University Professor and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, where he directed the Earth Institute from 2002 until 2016. He is President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Co-Chair of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition, Commissioner of the UN Broadband Commission for Development, academician of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican, and Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Honorary Distinguished Professor at Sunway University. He has been Special Advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General, and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary General António Guterres. 

The topic of the fireside chat is “Reversing Climate Change and the Future of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” This engaging session will be co-hosted by Professor Kwang Leong Choy, Co-Director of the Environment Research Center at Duke Kunshan University, and Dr. John Quelch, Executive Vice Chancellor of Duke Kunshan University. Together, they will delve into a meaningful discussion with Dr. Sachs, exploring his comprehensive work and deep insights into sustainable development. The conversation will also cover practical advice on career development in this field and discuss actionable ways in which we can all contribute to a more sustainable future. Further more, during the Q&A session, you will have the opportunity to pose questions and exchange ideas directly with Dr. Sachs, offering a unique chance to glean valuable insights from a leading expert in the field.
